About API Horizons

API Horizons was founded by an experienced languages educator with more than 17 years of teaching in leading UK independent and international schools.
I have taught French and Spanish at GCSE, A Level, Pre-U and beyond, while also supporting students preparing for Oxbridge applications, university admissions and international pathways.
Whilst at the three schools I have worked at, I have participated in 20 successful international trips, running over half of them and setting up 4 new trip destinations.
I have also been a Director of Squash at a top UK boarding school and always been involved in sports coaching, mentoring, and pastoral support throughout my teaching career.

Beyond the classroom
A defining part of my work has been helping students use languages in authentic local international settings.
Through work experience and cultural immersion opportunities in Spain - as well as more local activities in the UK - I have seen students develop confidence, independence and genuine intercultural understanding.
The most meaningful language learning happens when students have a reason to use the language.
My Educational Philosophy
Learning a language should do more than help students succeed in examinations—it should open doors.
Every student has different goals, whether that's achieving top grades, preparing for university, pursuing opportunities in sport or gaining the confidence to communicate internationally.
That's why every programme at API Horizons is tailored to the individual.
My aim is to develop confident, independent learners who can use language with purpose, think critically and embrace opportunities beyond the classroom.
Academic success matters, but the skills and confidence gained through language learning can last a lifetime.

Whether through expert language tuition, educational consultancy or meaningful international experiences, the goal is to equip every learner with the confidence, skills and global outlook to succeed in an increasingly connected world.
